Mechanism of blood pressure

1. Baroreceptors are neurones that can detect the changes in blood pressure. Baroreceptors are located at the acrh of the aorta.

2. When blood pressure decreases, baroreceptors are less stimulated. The decreased rate of nerve impulses are sent to the cardiovascular centre in the medulla oblongata. It results in stronger cardiac muscle contractions and increases the heartbeat rate, returning it back to the normal pressure. when blood pressure increases, baroreceptorsare more stimulated. the increased rate of nerve impulses are sent to the cardiovascular centre in the medulla oblongata.
